Police arrest the ‘victim’ after he killed the ‘bad guy’

The shocking incident of an alleged robbery victim turning into a killer has left the community of Ottery reeling.

The victim, who has not been named, took matters into his own hands after he was allegedly robbed of his cellphone by three men.

In a desperate attempt to retrieve his stolen belongings, the victim chased after the robbers in his car, resulting in a fatal collision.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim deliberately rammed into one of the alleged robbers, causing instant death.

The other two suspects were also caught up in the chaos, with one sustaining serious injuries from a beating and the other managing to escape unharmed.

The scene of the incident on Petrea Street was described as chaotic and distressing by residents who witnessed the aftermath.

Neighbourhood watch chairperson, Charmaine Arendse, expressed her shock and sadness at the events that unfolded in their community.

She stated, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and the violence that occurred in our area. Our thoughts are with the families of all those involved in this tragic incident.”

The driver of the car, identified as the father of the victim, was taken into custody by the police.

Arendse urged residents to remain vigilant and to join their local neighbourhood watch to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

The case has sparked a debate on vigilantism and the lengths individuals are willing to go to in order to seek justice.
