Gug’ othandayo – Clayton Daniels not ready to give up football at the age of 39

Former Cape Town Spurs defender Clayton Daniels is at a crossroads in his soccer career as he contemplates whether to retire or continue playing at the end of the season.

Following the end of his association with Spurs earlier this year, the 39-year-old is currently training independently and pursuing a coaching course to prepare for the next chapter in his career.

In a recent interview with Sowetan, Daniels disclosed his current situation and future plans, stating, “At this moment, I’m training with another club [amateur], but we will see at the end of the season what decision I will make.”

While he feels he still has more to offer on the field, Daniels remains open to opportunities in the Premier Soccer League if the right offer comes along.

Despite the challenges he has faced, Daniels remains determined to continue playing at a high level, expressing his readiness to contribute to any team that requires his experience and skills.

Reflecting on his current situation, Daniels acknowledged the uncertainties of the football industry, emphasizing the need to stay prepared for potential opportunities that may arise.
