Cheating allegations lead to Durban man stabbing mum and girlfriend

Durban cops are currently searching for a suspect in his twenties after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend and mother, as well as assaulting other family members during a heated altercation over the weekend.

The incident has left the community shocked and concerned for the safety of the victims.

According to Rusa, community members alerted their officers to the situation, informing them that two females had been rushed to the hospital for medical treatment due to stab wounds.

The victims have been identified as the suspect’s mother and girlfriend. The severity of their injuries is currently unknown.

A witness, who spoke to Rusa, revealed that the violent altercation erupted over allegations of infidelity between the suspect and his girlfriend.

During the argument, the suspect reportedly became enraged and grabbed a kitchen knife, using it to stab his girlfriend before forcibly taking her to his mother’s house.

The situation escalated further when the suspect assaulted his 76-year-old grandmother and wheelchair-bound uncle, who had attempted to intervene.

“The man thereafter damaged all the windows before he fled on foot,” Rusa stated, highlighting the extent of the chaos caused by the suspect’s actions.

Prem Balram from Rusa informed the media on Monday that the suspect, who has been on the run since the incident, has not yet been located.

Authorities are actively searching for him and urge anyone with information to come forward.
