Kaizer Chiefs ready to pounce as Percy Tau gets into trouble at Al Ahly

Kaizer Chiefs’ hopes of landing Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau may have received a significant boost following reports of a rift between the player and his club, Al Ahly.

Despite winning the CAF Champions League over the weekend, Tau’s celebrations were cut short by a disciplinary issue.

The South African international, a target for Amakhosi, was substituted in the 67th minute of the final.

Reports from Egypt suggest Tau reacted negatively to the decision, leading to a confrontation with coach Marcel Koller and a subsequent fine from the club.

Egyptian journalist Medhat Shalaby revealed, “Khaled Bibo [Al Ahly’s director of football] informed Percy Tau that he would be fined because of his objection to Marcel Koller’s decision.”

While efforts are reportedly underway to resolve the situation, the incident highlights a growing tension between Tau and Koller.

This is unexpected given Koller’s previous support for the player amidst rumors of a potential transfer.

This latest development could push Tau further down the pecking order and closer to an exit from the Egyptian giants. Kaizer Chiefs, who have been long-time admirers of the talented attacker, will undoubtedly be monitoring the situation closely.
