Five men to reappear in court after their arrest for business robberies and other crimes

Five men , aged between 32 and 43, are set to reappear in the Bafokeng Magistrates’ Court in Tlhabane on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, for a formal bail application.

Kholofelo Makuwa, Tshepo Sehulane, Christopher Majuwane, Thabo Motshwanedi, Donald Mpiyane, and Collin Madisa initially appeared in court on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, facing charges including business robbery, unlawful possession of firearms, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of dangerous weapons, and possession of suspected stolen good.

Their arrest followed a report from a community member in Phokeng regarding suspicious activity.

An operation conducted by local police led to the apprehension of three suspects on Sunday, March 18, 2024, in Kgale Section, Phokeng. Subsequently, three more suspects were arrested, and a white Volkswagen Polo allegedly used in the crimes was confiscated. The sixth suspect was released later.

After their initial court appearance, the accused were transferred to Jane Furse in Limpopo to face additional charges related to business robbery and other offenses on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, praised the officers involved in the successful operations and expressed gratitude to the community for their ongoing support in combating crime.
