AKA’s former bodyguard who charges R56,000 a day caught up in corruption scandal

The recent arrests of 15 individuals, including AKA’s ex-bodyguard Anwar Khan and former director of human resources at the University of Fort Hare, Dr. Paul Tladi, have sent shockwaves through the community.

The Sowetan reports that  the charges they face, which include fraud, corruption, kidnapping, murder, and attempted murder, paint a grim picture of the alleged crimes committed at the institution.

Anwar Khan, who is the owner of The Pentagon Group, a private security agency, had been responsible for AKA’s security in Durban for eight years.

Known for charging a hefty fee of R56k a day for his services, Khan’s high-profile clientele has included the likes of TD Jakes, Michael Jackson, Oprah Winfrey, Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys, and Kendrick Lamar.

The fact that someone with such an esteemed reputation in the security industry is now facing serious criminal charges has left many stunned.

Dr. Paul Tladi, on the other hand, served as the former director of human resources at the University of Fort Hare.

His involvement in the alleged corruption at the institution has raised concerns about the integrity of the university’s administration.

With four of the accused being current employees of the university and four others on suspension, the scandal has cast a dark shadow over the institution.
