12-year-old girls confession leads to arrest of serial rapist aged 15

A 15-year-old Cape Town boy facing eight rape charges remains in custody as the investigation unfolds.

The Daily Voice reports that the harrowing ordeal came to light last month after a 12-year-old girl bravely disclosed the alleged rapes to her friends, sparking a chain of events that led to the arrest of the teen.

Following the girl’s disclosure, outraged residents protested in front of the boy’s home, demanding justice for the victims and their removal from the house.

The children, now under the care of the Department of Social Development, are receiving the necessary support and assistance in the aftermath of the traumatic events.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila acknowledged the severity of the case, stating, “The 15-year-old has been charged with rape, and we are actively pursuing additional suspects who may be involved in these heinous crimes.”

Bonteheuwel councillor Angus Mckenzie expressed his commitment to ensuring justice for the victims, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. “I will follow through till the very end of this horrific and heinous case,” he affirmed.

Mckenzie, accompanied by concerned residents, attended the teen’s court appearance, underscoring the community’s united stance against such abhorrent acts of violence.

As the case progresses, Mckenzie vowed to stand by the victims and their families, advocating for their rights and seeking justice for the traumas they have endured.
