Woman pregnant with twins killed on her way to deliver
KwaZulu-Natal’s social development representative, Nonhlanhla Khoza, has passionately called for justice following the heinous murder of a 35-year-old pregnant woman. The victim, Busisiwe Ngubo, was tragically killed in the Ehlanzeni region within the Ubuhlebezwe Local Municipality.
Busisiwe Ngubo was carrying twins at the time of her death, making her untimely death all the more devastating. It was revealed that the woman was strangled, and her lifeless body was abandoned on the road, one kilometer away from her place of residence.

Nonhlanhla Khoza expressed the profound sorrow of the situation, emphasizing that Ngubo’s upcoming joyous event of delivering twins was brought to tragic end.
Reports have indicated that Ngubo left her home after receiving a phone call from her boyfriend. The boyfriend happens to be a police officer.
She had shared with relatives on her plan of her of going to the hospital as she was about to deliver. The shocking nature of this crime has left the community reeling.”
Khoza sent her heartfelt condolences to the family.
“Our thoughts are with the grieving family and friends during this trying period,” she said.
Khoza has made an impassioned plea to law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough and swift investigation into this appalling crime.
“We demand nothing less than a rigorous pursuit of justice in this case. The individual responsible for this heinous act must be apprehended promptly and the full force of the law should be brought to bear on them,“ said Khoza.
Khoza emphasised the imperative of eradicating violence against women, especially within intimate relationships.
“The loss of Ms Ngubo is a stark reminder of the pressing need to address gender-based violence and to foster a culture of respect, equality and safety.”
