WATCH| Two funeral parlour workers killed in mortuary bakkie rollover

In an interesting plot twist, two funeral parlour workers have lost their lives after a mortuary bakkie they were travelling in overturne on R391 road between Burgersdop and Steynsburg on Saturday 10 December 2022.

Funeral parlour staff handle dead bodies and transport them in mortuary cars, but in this case, the two workers have become the dead bodies they typically handle, talk about a plot twist.

The details of the incident are still sketchy, and it has not been stated if they were transporting a body or not. However, it’s suspected that alcohol use may have played a role in this crash.

Given that they do not experience a traffic accident every time they drink and drive, drivers frequently are unaware of the risk they are taking by doing so. Because of this, people frequently engage in risky behaviours and believe that driving while intoxicated is safe.

However, the truth is very different. Alcohol drastically alters nearly every physical ability required for safe driving, which results in extremely evident behavioural changes. It can affect decision-making when driving as well as concentration, perceptual functioning, and motor skills.

This is one there is a widespread message to drivers that they should drink responsibly, and not drink and drive.
