Popular TV presenter evicted after failing to pay rent

The ongoing legal saga involving South African radio host Phat Joe has captured headlines, shedding light on a tumultuous eviction battle.

The Daily Voice states that 49-year-old was reportedly served with an eviction order by the Western Cape High Court, compelling him and his wife, Palesa Morgan, to vacate their apartment by May 31st.

Failure to comply authorized the sheriff to enforce eviction on June 1st.

The couple, known for celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary in December, resided in a luxurious apartment flaunting three bedrooms and three bathrooms with breathtaking sea views.

However, recent events have cast a shadow over their once idyllic abode.

Allegations have surfaced regarding attempts to extort a significant sum, with Phat Joe vehemently denying any wrongdoing.

In a statement to News24, he condemned the actions of those involved, citing threats and fraudulent endeavors to extract R267,000 from him through false claims and manipulative legal maneuvers.

He emphasized the complexity of the situation, spanning civil and criminal cases, including allegations of assault.

Despite media scrutiny, Phat Joe has remained relatively tight-lipped, opting to address inquiries via text amidst reported meetings.

The Daily Voice’s attempts to solicit further comments were met with silence, as the radio personality failed to respond to a list of questions by the Thursday deadline.
