Moses Tembe cares more about the inquest to his daughters fall than AKA’s case
Moses Tembe, father of the late Anele Tembe, has chosen to remain silent following the recent arrests of seven suspects linked to the killing of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes.
The tragic incident occurred outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on February 10th, 2023.
Despite being a well-known businessman, Tembe has declined to offer any comments regarding the arrests, directing all inquiries to the family spokesperson, Manqoba Zulu.

Zulu, speaking to TshisaLIVE, stated that Tembe will not be available for comment until after the completion of the inquest into his daughter’s death.
In June 2022, the Tembe family responded vehemently to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), issuing a letter in which they accused the 35-year-old hip-hop artist of being responsible for their daughter’s demise.
They cited “scratch marks on AKA’s body, specifically at the back,” which they interpreted as defensive wounds, indicating Anele’s attempt to defend herself while AKA allegedly carried her on his shoulders.

Furthermore, the Tembe family disputed the initial suggestion that Anele had climbed over the balcony, citing the absence of fingerprints as evidence.
They also alleged that AKA had cleaned the hotel room, which was reportedly covered in blood.
The letter read: “He did not attend to his injured fiancé, who remained alive for approximately 20 minutes. He did not go to perform CPR on her; instead, Stefanutto, a complete stranger, cared enough to administer CPR and call emergency services in an attempt to save Anele Tembe’s life”.
Amidst these developments, Moses Tembe’s decision to refrain from public commentary underscores the ongoing legal and emotional difficulties surrounding the tragic events, as the family seeks justice and closure for their beloved daughter.
