MEC ‘blesses’ king with a brand new BMW 4 Series

Eastern Cape’s Co-operative Governance & Traditional Affairs MEC, Zolile Williams, demonstrated the government’s support for traditional leaders by presenting a BMW 4 Series to Amarharhabe King Jonguxolo Vululwandle Sandile at the Mngqesha Great Place near Qonce.

The gesture aimed to provide the young 32-year-old king with a suitable vehicle as he takes on his role following the passing of his mother, Queen Noloyiso Sandile, in 2020.

Williams highlighted the importance of supporting King Jonguxolo during this transitional period, especially considering his age at the time of his father’s passing.

The government’s commitment to assisting traditional leaders in matters of leadership and tradition was further emphasized through the provision of a vehicle and other forms of support.

“We gave him another vehicle to use while we engaged in a procurement process to get the right vehicle for him, so that has been finalized and arranged today,” Williams stated during the handover event.

In addition to the vehicle, Williams also delivered a cow to the royal house, symbolizing respect and support for the Amarharhabe kingdom.

The MEC assured the royal family of the government’s assistance in organizing a memorial service for the late queen, ensuring that she is honored with a proper ceremony.

The government’s involvement in providing resources and support to traditional leaders reflects a commitment to upholding cultural heritage and supporting the institutions that play a vital role in the Eastern Cape’s communities.
