Killer cop Sibusiso Mxolisi Hlophe murders wife and her mother

Police officer Sibusiso Mxolisi Hlophe (32) made an appearance in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court yesterday. He is facing charges related to a double murder and an attempted murder.

It is alleged that the officer shot and killed his wife and her mother and also injured her stepfather in the process.

The incident, occurring in Carolina on Sunday, has been strongly condemned by Mpumalanga police commissioner Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela.

How Sibusiso Mxolisi Hlophe planned the murder

According to Colonel Donald Mdhluli, a provincial police spokesperson,  Hlophe allegedly informed the mother of his children that his car had broken down and sought her assistance in towing his vehicle.

His partner, her mother, her stepfather, and her three children drove to him to help, unaware that a tragedy was looming for them,” Mdhluli said.

Upon their arrival, Hlophe opened fire, fatally shooting his partner and her mother and injuring her stepfather. The suspect then fled the scene in his partner’s vehicle with their three children.

During the escape, the suspect lost control of the vehicle, resulting in an overturn.

Police arrested him at the accident scene, where paramedics tended to the children. One child was hospitalized with minor injuries, and a firearm was confiscated during the arrest.

Tragically, the children’s mother and grandmother were pronounced dead on the scene, while their grandfather received medical treatment in the hospital.

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate is set to conduct an investigation into the incident.
