Jacob Zuma is replaced

The South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) in KwaZulu-Natal has made a bold move by appointing Lawrence Dube as the new acting provincial chairperson, following the expulsion of former president Jacob Zuma from the position.

Zuma, who was re-elected as the organisation’s chairperson just last year, has been removed due to allegations of misconduct and absconding.

Sanco’s decision to expel Jacob Zuma comes after much deliberation and consideration of the evidence presented.

The organization believes that Zuma’s actions have not been in line with the values and principles of the organization, leading to a loss of trust and confidence in his leadership.

In a statement released by Sanco’s provincial secretary, Sizwe Cele, on Friday, 16 February 2024, it was confirmed that Zuma had been removed from his position as chairperson.

The organization felt that it was necessary to take this step in order to uphold the integrity and reputation of Sanco.

Dube, the new acting provincial chairperson, is expected to bring a fresh perspective and leadership style to the organization.

With his experience as the former deputy chair, Dube is well-equipped to lead Sanco in KwaZulu-Natal during this transitional period.

As Sanco moves forward with a new leader at the helm, the organization remains committed to its mission of advocating for the rights and interests of the people.
