The owner of a car wash in Nelson Mandela Bay has found himself at the center of a murder investigation after he reportedly defended himself against a group of alleged armed robbers, resulting in the fatal shooting of one of the suspects.
The dramatic incident unfolded in broad daylight at the car wash located on Mavuso Road in Kwazakhele, sending shockwaves through the community and leaving onlookers in a state of disbelief.
According to eyewitnesses, chaos erupted as customers at the car wash scrambled to safety when a silver Volkswagen Polo carrying five individuals pulled up and requested a polish for their vehicle.
In a sudden and violent turn of events, four of the occupants of the Polo jumped out and opened fire on another motorist who was waiting for his car to be washed, causing him to sustain a gunshot wound to the leg.

Beetge mentioned that while the deceased suspect’s identity remains unknown, authorities estimate his age to be between 30 and 35 years old.
Additionally, an investigation into the incident has been launched by the New Brighton police, with cases of murder and attempted murder currently under scrutiny.
