Cristiano Ronaldo lends Pitso Mosimane a helping hand

Cristiano Ronaldo and his Al Nassr squad inadvertently threw a lifeline to former Kaizer Chiefs target Pitso Mosimane and his struggling Abha club in a dramatic Saudi Pro League encounter.

Al Nassr secured a crucial 3-2 victory against Al Akhdoud with a last-gasp winner from former Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic, who bagged a brace on the night. 

The result has significant implications for Mosimane’s Abha, as Akhdoud are their closest rivals in the fight against relegation.

With just three matches remaining in the season, Akhdoud currently occupy the final relegation spot, with Abha precariously perched just one point above them.

Al Nassr’s victory, which also featured a goal from Ronaldo, delivered a much-needed boost to Abha’s survival hopes.

The result highlights the tense nature of the relegation battle in the Saudi Pro League and underscores the importance of every point in the run-in. 

While Mosimane will be undoubtedly grateful for Ronaldo and Al Nassr’s intervention, he will know that his team must continue to fight tooth and nail to secure their top-flight status.
