Cancer patient livid after being told to go home and wait for death

Simphiwe Mthimunye is livid after she was told by doctors to go home and wait for death as they could not assist her.

Her story is one that highlights the failures of the healthcare system in South Africa.

Diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, she was left feeling hopeless and abandoned by the very doctors who were meant to provide her with the care and support she needed.

According to Mthimunye, the doctors at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital simply told her there was nothing they could do for her, leaving her with the devastating advice to go home and wait for her death.

Mthimunye’s ordeal began when she started experiencing symptoms and sought medical attention in various public hospitals.

Despite her desperate pleas for treatment, she was met with indifference and a lack of resources.

It was only after a year of searching that she managed to get a CT scan at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital.

This delay in diagnosis and treatment undoubtedly had a significant impact on her prognosis.

She is now patiently waiting for action as she walks on the brink of death.

No official comment could be obtained from department of health authorities.
