Tsotsi star, Presley Chweneyagae is accused of misusing money from the National Lotteries Commission (NLC)
According to TimesLive in his research into the NLC for GroundUp, journalist Raymond Joseph discovered that Chweneyagae had reportedly benefitted from his close friendship with some previous commission executives and board members by receiving an R15 million grant.
The Southern African Youth Movement (SAYM) got R67.5 million for three projects, including a drug rehabilitation center in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, an elderly residence in Botshabelo, Free State, and an event called “Taking Back the Future.”

The musical was co-written and co-directed by Chweneyagae, and it was scheduled to be performed in 2017 in three provinces. There isn’t much proof that the events ever happened, except the photos from the opening night.
Additionally, branding for the project contained references to the Presley Chweneyagae Foundation, the actor’s nonprofit.

A high court preservation order was obtained by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) to freeze nine opulent residences in Gauteng, a BMW 420i, and two Ocean Basket locations on the East Rand that were connected to his co-star Terry Pheto.
Pheto denied fraud allegations levelled against her.
“I deny any involvement in the alleged scheme that has been reported on. I also had no prior knowledge of an application to obtain a preservation order against me and have no sight of this order,” she wrote.
