Shaun Mogaila surrenders after fatal crash that killed 9 year old girl

PSL player Shaun Mogaila has turned himself in to the police after running away from a crash that resulted in a young girl’s death.

Cocaine, cannabis edibles, and expensive Don Julio tequila bottles were reportedly found in his car.

The accident, which happened on Wednesday morning, killed a 9-year-old girl and injured a 13-year-old boy.

Shaun Mogaila, is under investigation after allegedly fleeing a fatal crash that killed a young girl, aged nice and injured a teenage boy aged 13 years old.

Mogaila, who plays as a right back and right winger for Sekhukhune United, recently joined the team from Royal AM.

He played in a match on Tuesday, where his team won 2-0.

According to Ekurhuleni Metro Police spokesperson Thabiso Makgato, Mogaila gave himself up at the Rabie Ridge Police Station later that day.

The crash occurred around 7.30am on Andrew Mapheto Road in Thembisa.

The children were being driven to school by their mother when their Hyundai i10 collided with Mogaila’s BMW.

Makgato stated that the mother was transporting her daughter, who died from her injuries at the scene, while the 13-year-old was taken to Thembisa Tertiary Hospital with serious injuries.

Initially, the driver’s identity wasn’t known until vehicle records were checked.

Police found four bottles of Don Julio tequila in Mogaila’s car, along with what they suspect to be cocaine and cannabis edibles.

Mogaila is facing charges of culpable homicide, reckless driving, and fleeing the scene of an accident. He is expected to appear in court soon.
