Patriotic Alliance takes legal action to stop chidimma adetshina from participating in Miss South Africa

In a big legal move, the Patriotic Alliance has initiated urgent proceedings to interdict Chidimma Adetshina from participating in the Miss South Africa pageant. The political party, known for its strong stance on national identity and citizenship issues, has raised concerns about Adetshina’s eligibility to compete.

The Patriotic Alliance has expressed its intention to have the matter heard on August 10, 2024, at 10 a.m. This urgency underscores the party’s commitment to resolving the issue promptly before the pageant progresses further. As of now, the party is awaiting confirmation from a Senior Judge regarding the allocation of the matter, with an expected confirmation time set for 4 p.m. today.

This legal action is the latest development in the ongoing controversy surrounding Adetshina’s participation. Earlier, questions were raised about her citizenship status, which sparked widespread debate and drew significant media attention.

The Department of Home Affairs identified prima facie reasons to believe that fraud and identity theft may have been committed by the individual listed as Chidimma Adetshina’s mother in Home Affairs records.

There is credible evidence suggesting that Chidimma Adetshina’s mother may have engaged in fraudulent activities and identity theft.

The Patriotic Alliance has been vocal in its position, advocating for strict adherence to the rules and regulations governing the pageant.

The outcome of this legal action could have far-reaching implications for both Adetshina and the Miss South Africa pageant. If the interdict is granted, it could prevent Adetshina from continuing her journey in the competition, potentially reshaping the dynamics of this year’s event.

As the situation unfolds, all eyes will be on the court proceedings scheduled for August 10, where the Patriotic Alliance will present its case. The pageant organizers and supporters of Adetshina are also expected to closely monitor the developments, which could set a precedent for future controversies in similar competitions.
