Shebeshxt’s attempted murder case postponed
Lehlogonolo Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt, appeared in absentia at the Lebowakgomo Regional Court today for a pre-trial hearing on a charge of attempted murder. This charge relates to stabbing incident.
Due to his injuries, Chauke was unable to attend the court proceedings. The court then postponed the matter to July 19, 2024, to allow him time to provide a medical certificate proving his inability to attend.
Shebeshxt is currently recovering after a car accident last month that claimed the life of his nine-year-old daughter, Onthatile.
He sustained serious injuries and spent nearly a month in the hospital before being released on Tuesday.
His lawyer and family spokesperson, Lot Ramusi, told TimesLive the rapper was traumatised but was slowly recovering physically.
“He is a bit fragile. He is taking it easy and coming to terms with what has happened to him and his family. He is busy with physical exercises to get better,” he said.
Lot further stated that Shebeshxt would need trauma counselling.
“Shebeshxt is devastated, and he’ll be in trauma counselling together with his girlfriend over the loss of their daughter. Emotionally he is not OK, which is obvious from what they have endured with a loss of life. At the moment he is focusing on exercises and regaining his mental health,” he said
The rapper was travelling to his girlfriend’s home, where he was going to drop her and his daughter, before making his way to an ANC Siyanqoba rally concert in Lebowakgomo when his vehicle collided with a truck.
Onthatile was a grade 3 pupil at Northern Academy in Polokwane when her life was cut short.
