Stormers coach John Dobson expressed the significance of the occasion during a press conference, urging his players to embrace the moment and the rich traditions associated with the North-South derby.

“We must just embrace the occasion, look around and see how many striped jerseys there are in the crowd, there will be many, many thousands of them. Think about them. Make sure you start properly,” Dobson emphasized, highlighting the importance of a strong start and maintaining momentum throughout the game.

Stormers captain Deon Fourie echoed Dobson’s sentiments, emphasizing the intensity and significance of derby matches like the one against the Bulls.

He stressed the importance of the opening 20 minutes, acknowledging the emotional and high-pressure environment that comes with such games.
