Kaizer Chiefs Set to Secure Bruce Bvuma with Contract Extension

Kaizer Chiefs are set to extend the contract of goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma following his outstanding performances in the recent DStv Premiership matches leading up to the break.

Bvuma, a product of the Chiefs’ development system, made his debut in the 2016/17 season and has since become a key figure in the squad.

With over 40 appearances for Amakhosi, he has showcased his goalkeeping prowess, recording 14 clean sheets throughout his career with the club.

One of his most memorable performances was in the 1-0 victory against Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Champions League semi-final first leg in 2021.

The 28-year-old Bafana Bafana international marked his return to the Chiefs’ starting lineup in November, ending a 15-month hiatus from official matches.

Since then, Bvuma has demonstrated his skill by keeping three clean sheets in four matches leading up to the AFCON break.

Kaizer Chiefs have taken proactive steps to retain the talented shot-stopper, as Bvuma is currently in the last six months of his existing contract.

In a bid to avoid losing him on a free transfer, the club has reportedly tabled a new two-year deal for Bvuma, extending until June 2026.
