16 year old murderer to know fate next year
On Wednesday, the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court finished hearing about the murder of a 15-year-old student allegedly by another 16 year old student.
In January, the State and defense are expected to discuss the case before a decision is made.
Why murder as a 16 year old?
Last March, a 16 year old schoolmate reportedly stabbed Jayden Glazer after school in Pinetown. Both went to Chosen Independent Studies, with Jayden in Grade 9.
There was a fight between Jayden and the accused before the stabbing. The 17 year old accused, who was 16 at the time, faces a murder charge. The trial is private due to the ages of those involved.
According to IOL The court heard from a teen who recorded the moments before the stabbing.
He said there was a fight that day, and the accused stabbed Jayden.
In the video, Jayden walks toward the accused without a weapon.
The accused then stabs him, and Jayden falls, bleeding.

What has happened to the teen
The accused is out on a warning and living with his grandmother. The State finished questioning the teen on Wednesday.
Outside court, Jayden’s mom, Jorina Pretorius, said the accused apologized in a letter on the stand. In her reply, she struggled to forgive him for taking Jayden’s life, saying only God’s forgiveness could come close.
