Zimbabwean clubs fight for fading star Khama Billiat
CAPS United, a prominent football club in Zimbabwe, has thrown its hat into the ring in the pursuit of former Warriors star Khama Billiat.
The highly sought-after winger, who has been a free agent since parting ways with Kaizer Chiefs in July last year, is now the subject of intense interest from both Dynamos and CAPS United.
Coach Lloyd Chitembwe of CAPS United has made it clear that he believes Billiat has unfinished business with the Harare giants.
Chitembwe, who played a pivotal role in Billiat’s early career by giving him his debut for CAPS United while on loan from Aces Youth Academy in 2010, expressed his eagerness to see the talented player back in the green and white colours.
“I have known Khama since he was 15-years old and I have always believed in his abilities as a footballer. It would be a very big honor to have him back,” remarked Chitembwe following CAPS United’s pre-season friendly against Mwos, a Northern Region Division One side.
While Dynamos are considered the frontrunners in the race to secure Billiat’s signature, CAPS United’s entry into the competition adds another layer of intrigue to the saga.
The prospect of Billiat returning to his former club has sparked excitement among fans and raised hopes for a potential reunion that could reignite his career on home soil.
