Woman claps Back at fans criticising her for shooting her TikTok content at DJ Sumbody’s funeral

‘I went to the funeral to pay my last respects because I left him’: The young woman received backlash for her videos at DJ Sumbody’s funeral.

A woman named Bontle Maela, who disputes being DJ Sumbody’s ex-girlfriend, has hit back on fans who criticized her for including her TikTok content at the musician’s funeral.

The slain Amapian artist and businessman – whose real name was Oupa John Sefoka – was buried on Saturday 26 November at Ga-Masemola, Apel Fourways Cross, Limpopo.

The 38-year-old was gunned down along with one of his bodyguards in a hail of bullets in Woodmead, Johannesburg, on his way to a gig on Sunday morning, 20 November. He died instantly with his bodyguards, Sibu Walter Mokoena.

WOMAN SHOOTS TIKTOK CONTENT AT DJ SUMBODY’S FUNERAL

While mourners included EFF frontman, Julius Malema, rapper, Cassper Nyovest; and the Sefoka family gathered to pay the final tribute to DJ Sumbody, all Bontle thought about was creating content.
Bontle was a trend on social media after she shared a video of herself at her funeral happily announcing her arrival.

“Hello everyone, we have arrived at the funeral and now we’re going to dish up,” a chirpy Bontle, who was chewing the life out of her bubblegum, said as she threw a peace sign in the mix.

In another video, Bontle and her friends can be heard saying that those who are not in attendance do not qualify as “stocko” — women paid to “entertain” musicians during gigs.

BONTLE HITS BACK

However, an unbothered Bontle said that she does not see anything with the video. Instead she said that those who were criticising her for vlogging at DJ Sumbody’s funeral “need counselling”.

“All that I can say is you guys need counselling, a serious one [sic]. Li [you are] stressed and in that video, there is nothing wrong actually because I was updating my followers that I have arrived. What made you angry? The fact that I said I’m going to dish up? Don’t you dish up at funerals?

“I went to the funeral to pay my last respects because I left him. I did not go there for the content, I cried yes because a funeral is sensitive and I was hurt. Just because I was hurt doesn’t mean I can’t take a video,” Bontle said.

In another video, Bontle says she’s not DJ Sumbody’s ex and she was just passing by.
