Man found, tied up with shoe laces and murdered, ex-girlfriend arrested
A 28-year-old woman, sought in connection with a murder in Pomona, Kempton Park, was arrested yesterday.
The police have expressed gratitude to local security services for their assistance in apprehending the suspect.
Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego reported that officers responded to the scene of a murder on the previous night at a property on West Road.
“When police arrived at the property they found the body of a 29-year-old man,” says Ditshego.
It is believed the victim was strangled with a cable.
“Shoe laces were used to tie up the victims’ hands and legs. A witness at the property told police she had seen the victim with his ex-girlfriend during the day and that the woman had left the property alone earlier that evening,” explains Ditshego.
An alert was issued for the woman.
Ditshego confirms that Sec Pros security personnel were patrolling around Brentwood Park when they saw a woman matching the description given.
“The suspect was apprehended and detective Captain Richard Moloi who attended the murder scene, drove to Brentwood Park where the 28-year-old female was detained. The woman was taken to the Kempton Park Police Station where she was charged with murder.”
She is scheduled to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon to face the charges against her.
Kempton Park station commander, Brigadier Lindani Ndlovu, praised the swift response of the security personnel.
The arrest involved several key partie CCs, including Moto-Track, Jungle Boys, Rapid Response, Sector 6 CPF, and SHARE-IT Live.
