Struggling DStv Premiership side Richards Bay announced the dismissal of head coach Kaitano Tembo on Christmas Day.

The Zimbabwean mentor joined the Natal Rich Boys this season but has faced challenges in achieving positive results.

Club statement about Tembo

“Richards Bay Football Club would like to announce the release of the head coach Mr. Kaitano Tembo with immediate effect.

“The club would like to thank the coach for his contribution during this season. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Vusumuzi Vilakazi has been appointed as the interim head coach.

“Senior coach Mr. Vusi Vilakazi will take over the first team until further notice,” concluded the statement.

Richards Bay will next face high-flying second-placed SuperSport United on Saturday, 30 December.

Kick-off at the King Zwelithini Stadium is at 15:30.
