In a significant development ahead of the upcoming CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the South African Football Association (SAFA) and Bafana Bafana have reached a crucial agreement on bonuses for the tournament.

The announcement follows a productive meeting between the players and management to outline the financial structures associated with participation in the prestigious event.

Representatives of the players, including Captain Ronwen Williams, Percy Tau, Siyanda Xulu, Veli Mothwa, and Themba Zwane, engaged in discussions with SAFA management, which comprised Dr. Danny Jordaan, Vice-President Bennett Bailey, CEO Lydia Monyepao, and HOD David Molwantwa.

The negotiations culminated in the signing of a memorandum, solidifying the agreement on bonuses for Bafana Bafana’s participation in the AFCON.

“We are happy that we could meet with the players, hear them out and come to an agreement on the financial side,” expressed Lydia Monyepao.

The agreement addresses financial aspects related to the players’ involvement in the AFCON, providing a foundation for a unified and focused campaign.

“Bafana Bafana will fare well in this edition of the AFCON, and we are happy that this side of the game is now laid to rest,” stated Dr. Danny Jordaan.
