R13 Million star at risk of leaving Bucs
According to the latest reports from Mayfair, one of the Orlando Pirates’ most valuable stars faces an uncertain future with the Bucs. Thabang Monare faces an uncertain future with the Bucs, according to The South African.
He nearly left Pirates last season and now faces similar uncertainty as the January transfer window fast approaches.
Monare’s future has yet to be decided at the Pirates and things are not looking good for the Bucs midfielder.
He went from being one of their key players who even earned a call-up from Hugo Broos at Bafana Bafana, to a player who played little this season and was eliminated from the national team.
The Bucs midfielder has made just five appearances for the Soweto giants this season, although he has also had an injury-heavy season. Now the Bucs elite are about to make decisions about the future of several players and Monare is one of the players that will be talked about.
“Pirates are yet to discuss players’ contracts and Thabang is no exception. It is something that will be looked at at a later stage,” said the club insider.
Hopefully for Monare and Bucs fans, he gets more opportunities to prove himself in the second half of the season.
But even that is unlikely given the rise of Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Miguel Timm in midfield. Therefore, a loan move would benefit the talented Pirates midfielder more than playing second fiddle to Ndlondlo and Timm under Jose Riveiro.
