Police search for man who might have been eaten by crocodiles
Members from Empangani Police Search & Rescue, IPSS Search & Rescue, and PacSys returned to the Amatikulu River to continue the search for a man who went missing on Wednesday afternoon.
The 23-year-old was last seen crossing the Amatikulu River on Wednesday, 9 November 2023.
Rescue divers and swimmers have combed over 1km of the river downstream from where he was last seen.
Unfortunately, with the number of crocodiles that have been seen in the area, the teams have had to suspend the search for safety reasons.

Meanwhile, Bethlehem police are seeking the assistance of the individual depicted in the attached identikit to aid in the resolution of a theft case that occurred in Bethlehem.
According to reports, on Tuesday, 2 November 2023, the complainant was at a furniture shop in Bethlehem intending to purchase a bed. However, she decided not to proceed with the purchase and left the shop. While outside, an unknown male approached her, offering a bed at a special discounted price, including transportation to her residence from another location. Trusting the offer, the woman handed over an amount of R5000-00.
Regrettably, the male disappeared without a trace and never returned. He was described as wearing a red Golf shirt, VKB jacket, black pants and spoke South Sotho. His hairstyle is a black short cut.
