Police arrest three for the rape of 8 women

According to Police Minister Bheki Cele, three individuals have been arrested. This arrest is in connection with the Friday morning rape and robbery of eight women in Krugersdorp, Gauteng.

The attack is thought to have been planned by ten individuals. According to Cele, foreign nationals are alleged to have committed the crime.

Cele reported that three suspects had been arrested while police searched the area for the culprits.

Illegal miners are known to frequent the area where the incident occurred.

The armed group of men is believed to be Lesotho Nationals and the 8 women ar allegedly from Alex.

The women and their crew were shooting a music video at the time. The men are said to have shot in the air and ordered everyone to lay down. They then took the women to the bush. They took turns raping them. The crew was also robbed of their equipment and cellphones.

The event was mentioned earlier in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s speech at the policy conference.

“We just learned of the tragic incident where several ladies in our country were abused this morning,” Ramaphosa remarked.

“We have ordered law enforcement agencies and the minister of police to get started on this right now to make sure that those responsible for this crime are caught and punished.”
