Pitso Mosimane the reason for Al Ahly vs Zamalek draw?
Pitso Mosimane was blamed for Al Ahly’s players’ poor performance. This after their 2-2 draw with Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League. Although he left the club before the Cairo Derby.
Soon after the team lost to Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League final, it was announced that the South African had resigned from being the head coach of Al Ahly. This announcement was made last week.
Since then, in the meantime, Samy Komsan has taken Mosimane’s place. He started the position with a 4-1 win over Eastern Company. This is before the Red Devils drew over the weekend with strong competitions, Zamalek.
However, former Egypt assistant coach Diaa El-Sayed says that the team’s previous manager was to blame for the Ahly players’ alleged poor fitness.
“Mosimane is to blame for Al Ahly players appearing in poor shape during the second half,” he said to the Al-Hayah TV channel.
Both teams made a lot of mistshes during the game.
“That shouldn’t have happened in such a big game between two big clubs,” the commentator said.
In his two years as head coach, Mosimane won five trophies for the team. Which includes two Champions League championships
Opinion on Pitso Mosimane
Instead of shifting the blame for their poor performance, coaches and players must accept responsibility. Pitso Mosimane has already left the club, thus he shouldn’t be held accountable should things go wrong.
If he is to blame for Al Ahly and Zamalek’s draw, he should therefore be praised for defeating Eastern Company 4-1.
The former head coach, Pitso Mosimane, has done a great job. But there will be losses, just like with every other coach. No matter how good a team is, football is a game, and the outcome is never certain.
During the game, there may have been errors made. The next phase is to learn from them and continue.
