Orlando Pirates hold their horses as they avoid making a decision on out-of-favour Sesane

Orlando Pirates find themselves in a dilemma regarding the future of Thabiso Sesane, as plans to send the young defender on loan have been put on hold, according to sources close to the club.

Sesane, who has yet to make an official appearance for the Buccaneers this season, was expected to be loaned out in January to gain more playing time and experience.

The 23-year-old returned from a loan spell at All Stars at the end of the previous season, where he had the opportunity to showcase his talent in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

However, with the club’s change in status and renaming to Black Leopards, Sesane’s future at Orlando Pirates has become uncertain.

Head coach Jose Riveiro has favored more experienced players like Tapelo Xoki, Olisa Ndah, and Nkosinathi Sibisi in the central defense, leaving Sesane, along with Sandile Mthethwa and others, struggling to secure a spot in the starting lineup.

Despite his lack of game-time, Sesane is viewed as a promising talent for the future by the club’s management.

They are keen on sending him to a club where he can continue his development and progress, similar to the paths taken by players like Boitumelo Radiopane and Azola Tshobeni.
