Famed rapper and media personality, Moozlie Mabena, recently embarked on a vacation to Mauritius with friends Thabsie and Yolanda Vilakazi, the wife of Kwesta.
While initially enjoying the beaches and lagoons of the tropical paradise, the vacation took an unexpected turn as Tropical Cyclone Belal swept through Mauritius, disrupting their getaway.
Moozlie’s Disappointment
Expressing her disappointment on Instagram, Moozlie shared her thoughts on the unforeseen cyclone experience.
She acknowledged that the cyclone had disrupted the idyllic vacation she had envisioned, stating:
“This cyclone experience has been so wild. Not the vacation I had imagined.”
Despite the unexpected turn of events, Moozlie remained resilient, viewing the situation as a reminder that she can overcome any storm that the year may bring.
She shared, “But having this happened in Jan is a little reminder that God will see me thru any storm this year has coming my way.”
Amidst the chaos caused by Cyclone Belal, Moozlie expressed deep gratitude for her safety.
In an Instagram post, she said:
“Also feeling beyond grateful that I was in a warm bed with a roof over my head. God is good!”
Reports from the Mauritius Meteorological Service (MMS) revealed that the cyclone reached a level 4 warning, indicating the highest alert level.
The storm made landfall near the southern coast with winds reaching approximately 90 km/h (56 mph).
Unfortunately, amidst the calamity, one death has been recorded.
The Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Jugnauth, criticized the MMS for its response to the storm, expressing surprise at the lack of anticipation for the heavy rains.
He stated, “I share the anger of many Mauritians. Those responsible will have to assume their responsibilities.”
