Mind games? Rulani Mokwena believes Sundowns are too strong for Orlando Pirates
Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena is confident that his team has what it takes to secure a victory against Orlando Pirates in their upcoming clash in the DStv Premiership.
With the league action set to resume following the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations, the Brazilians are gearing up to face the Buccaneers at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday evening.
Reflecting on the team’s preparations during the break, Mokwena emphasized the importance of the mini mid-season camp in fine-tuning aspects of their game for the second half of the season.
Despite facing challenges with players not being available for every training session simultaneously, the head coach expressed his belief in the squad’s strength and ability to overcome their opponents.
“The break was good for us. The mini mid-season camp was very good. We worked on a couple of things we want to improve in the second half of the season,” Mokwena stated optimistically.
“We feel that we are strong enough to be able to win the game with the squad that we have.”
Acknowledging the tough task ahead against a formidable Pirates side, Mokwena stressed the importance of being at their best both tactically and emotionally to deliver a top performance on Saturday.
The coach also confirmed that several key players who represented Bafana Bafana at AFCON will be sidelined due to injuries, potentially affecting the team’s lineup for the upcoming match.
