Man hands himself over to the police with his dead wife in the car

A 30-year-old man hands himself over to the police for the muder of his wife. The from man from Haseboche in Lesotho, residing in Meqheleng Zone 8 came to Ficksburg police station Community Service Centre in tears . He was driving his VW sedan together with his dead wife seated in a passenger seat of their car to report the alleged murder and was arrested on the spot.

It’s alleged that on 1 December 2023 at approximately 15:30, the man parked his car in front of Ficksburg police station and walked into Ficksburg Community Service Centre in tears. When asked what happened, he told the police that he came to report the murder of his wife who was inside his car.

It’s further alleged that at about 14:50, the couple, the man aged 30 and wife aged 23 had a heated argument whilst seated in their car at Meulspruit Dam, a few kilometres outside Ficksburg. It’s further alleged that the wife told the husband that she was sick and tired and he got angry and assaulted her.

In the process he stabbed her with sharp object on the neck and she became unconscious inside the car. That’s when the husband drove from the dam to police station to report the incident.

The Emergency Medical Service personnel were summoned to police station and declared the woman dead.

A case of murder is being investigated. Both the sharp instrument together with the vehicle have been confiscated as part of evidence.

The suspect (30) is expected to appear before the Ficksburg Magistrate Court on Monday, 04 December 2023 facing a charge of murder.
