Malajika ready to defend title against his British ‘nightmare’

Respected boxing trainer Manny Fernandes has bestowed high praise upon International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-bantamweight champion Ricardo “Magic Man” Malajika, touting him as a potential superstar in the making.

With Fernandes’ track record of producing champions, his endorsement of Malajika’s talent carries significant weight within the boxing community.

Fernandes, known for nurturing boxing talents to success, has played a pivotal role in the careers of notable fighters, including guiding Isaac Hlatshwayo to national and international titles in the lightweight division.

Malajika will take on Marcel “The Chosen One” Braithwaite of Liverpool, England, in the main bout of Golden Gloves “Power House” bill.

His expertise was evident when Hlatshwayo clinched the IBO welterweight championship, prompting the retirement of the formidable Joseph “Smokin’ Joe” Makaringe.

Currently, Fernandes is channeling his knowledge and skills towards honing Malajika’s abilities at the Brian Mitchell Boxing Academy in Edenvale.

The 25-year-old champion, under Mitchell’s management, is set to defend his title at Emperors Palace, following a dominant victory over Kevin Luis Munoz of Argentina in his previous bout.
