Mabuza says he is not done yet
According to David Mabuza, the ANC deputy president, it is untrue, that he is done as the party’s second in charge.
Before the national elective conference, which will be held in Nasrec from December 16 to 21, the ANC deputy president said that the ANC branches would decide his fate.
He said the ANC branches would decide his fate while addressing the media as he presented Zodwa Zwane, the late Winnie Madikizela-former Mandela’s assistant, with a house he had funded. This happened in South Hill, Johannesburg,
The deputy president stated that he will follow ANC branches’ advice over his future in a position he is likely to lose as other ANC officials, including Paul Mashatile, favour for his position.
“I will work for the ANC in whatever way I can till the day I die, regardless of my position. The ANC’s branches will make the decision. Mabuza stated, “If they decide to designate me to proceed [as vice president], I will accept.
Prior to the gathering, the former Mpumalanga strongman indicated he was considering including other leaders in an effort to promote unity.
According to TimesLIVE, Mabuza met with other senior members this week, including Lindiwe Sisulu and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, a candidate for the presidency.
These are just rumours about what we are doing, there are far too many rumours going around. Mabuza declared, “I am not seeing anyone, and I am not on any slate.
“I am considering and looking at a strategy for how I should go just to tie things together.”
Cyril Ramaphosa, the president of the ANC, was not mentioned by Mabuza, who just said: “I am not here to judge the president, it would be very unfair.”
