Convicted sexual predator, Lukas Rudman, wants to serve sentence at home
A man from the Eastern Cape, who was found guilty of raping, assaulting, and trafficking underage girls, is expecting to receive a non-custodial sentence.
Due to two pending reports, Lukas Rudman, 66, was not sentenced when he appeared in Makhanda’s High Court on Tuesday due to a few outstanding reports.

The social worker and correctional supervision reports that was requested by the convict’s defense team will only available before the court on February 19, 2024, this is what the court heard on Tuesday.
The reports will most likely show whether Rudman is a good fit for a non-custodial sentence, this is a sentence that is served outside of a prison.
In November, Rudman was found guilty on seven counts, which included three instances of human trafficking of teenage girls in KwaNojoli, formerly Somerset East, two counts of rape, and two counts of sexual assault.
He was found not guilty of four further offences.
Rudman was arrested after his conviction in November. Prior to that, he was free on a R1000 bail. The state says Rudman lured the young victims, who come from poor backgrounds, to visit his house by giving them gifts, including money, cell phones and food.
The judge will evaluate the reports on February 19 before deciding on a suitable sentencing, which is expected to be issued on February 22, 2024, according to state prosecutor Sharon Hendricks.
