The court had postponed his case to September 25 after a brief appearance last month.
His new lawyer asked for more time to understand the case before filing a bail application.
Longwe was previously taken into custody after his father, famous producer Chicco Twala, reported a theft in September.

Chicco Claims R200k Studio Equipment Stolen
Chicco accused Longwe of breaking into his studio and stealing equipment worth around R200,000 while he was in the US.
He also opened a case against another son, Sello, who was released after the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said there wasn’t enough evidence against him.
“I had a meeting with both my sons before I left for the US because I knew Longwe, especially, might go astray,” Chicco explained.
He expressed that he would rather see Longwe in jail than struggling on the streets or harming others.
Chicco mentioned that his son has been battling substance abuse and has been to rehab over 30 times.
When contacted for comment, Chicco said, “I don’t know much; I just arrived. But I knew that it was going to happen. I even told the investigating officer that they must not give him bail. All I can say is that they must arrest him, and his sister should open a case against him for theft.”
