Kelly Khumalo Accused of Ordering Hit: Shocking Revelations in Senzo Meyiwa Murder Trial
In a surprising turn of events during the ongoing trial for the murder of Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, shocking allegations have emerged, pointing towards singer Kelly Khumalo as the one who allegedly ordered a hit on her former boyfriend.
The information was disclosed in an affidavit read by lead investigator Brigadier Bongani Gininda at North Pretoria High Court.
Five individuals, Muzikawulahlelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Ziphozonke Maphisa, and Sifisokuhle Ntuli, are currently on trial for Meyiwa’s murder.
They were arrested in 2020, six years after the tragic incident.
The court heard that according to the affidavit made by accused number one and two, Sibiya and Ntanzi, Kelly Khumalo was named as the person who allegedly hired someone to kill Senzo Meyiwa.
Evidence against Kelly Khumalo
The investigator also revealed that Khumalo had been trying to “get rid” of Meyiwa since 2013.
Cellphone linkages between Khumalo and accused number three and five were mentioned, raising questions about why she would be in contact with individuals connected to her boyfriend’s murder.
The court was informed about cellphone evidence, including a photo of money found on accused number three, Mncube’s phone, which was also discovered on Kelly Khumalo’s cellphone.
The lead investigator, Gininda, stated that the cellphone, which was stolen from Khumalo’s home, was traced near Vosloorus hostel, where the planning of the murder allegedly took place.
Further revelations indicated that Ntanzi, one of the accused, was known as a hitman in Kwa-Nongoma in KZN and supplied illegal firearms to other hitmen.
A trial-within-a-trial is currently underway to determine the admissibility of confession statements and other statements made by the accused during the main trial.
