I want my money – Busi Mkhwebane demands her money from GEPF

Embattled Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane is demanding her pension payout from the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) plus interest.

Mkhwebane’s application was filed in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on December 16, while she was still the public protector, less than a week before she was removed from office through a parliamentary process, which she is challenging in the Constitutional Court.

In court papers, Mkhwebane claims that she was advised by the GEPF that she qualified for an early retirement in terms of the GEPF rules and was entitled to a pension cash payout.

Mkhwebane is claiming that she is entitled to a pension cash payout of about R3.1 million.
