Devan Cox, a young and fit officer with the South African Police Service (SAPS) in East London, has recently become the country’s latest viral sensation, earning the nickname “Hot Cop.”

He is a constable in the South African Police Service (SAPS) Flying Squad department in Eastern Cape.

He said his picture that went viral came as a surprise to him.

Officer Cox is known for his dedication to serving his community and upholding the law. He’s also an adventurer and fitness enthusiast, often sharing his passion for swimming and his pride in his SAPS vehicle, which he uses to pursue criminals, on his TikTok account.

Following his sudden fame, he has reportedly found himself in trouble with his employers.

According to reports employees of SAPS are forbidden to post pictures in uniform without prior permission and police officers are also not allowed to conduct interviews without permission.

Cox will reportedly face disciplinary process.
