Suspected gang of illegal immigrants terrorising Vosloorus have been arrested

Police arrested four suspects aged between 22 and 28 for possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition, and suspected stolen property on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in Vosloorus.

The suspects are believed to be part of a gang that has been terrorizing the Vosloorus community in Ekurhuleni and are responsible for serious and violent crimes, including murders, robberies, and car hijackings.

Three of the suspects are believed to be illegal immigrants, as they failed to produce identity documents during the arrests.

Detectives from Vosloorus Serious and Violent Crimes received information about the whereabouts of the suspects linked to various crimes in the area.

In the early hours of Tuesday, police, along with community members, apprehended the suspects at their residences. During the arrests, the suspects were found in possession of 10 unlicensed firearms (eight pistols and two rifles), 23 rounds of ammunition, five laptops, 18 cell phones, and two plasma televisions suspected to be stolen.

More arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
