Festive of death, mother-in-law found murdered on Christmas

The festive season is a time that should be full of happiness and laughter, which is the case for the majority of families, but regrettably, some families are going through trying times and are left broken.

The terrible loss of a musician and music producer affectionately known as Mampintsha, as well as the Boksburg gas truck explosion that left 15 people dead and many more injured, have left the nation in a state of shock.

Sadly another family has found itself planning a funeral for a relative who was found murdered on Christmas day.

Since this is the one time of year that families can gather together and celebrate, the festive season is the worst time to plan a funera. Our hearts go out to all the families that find themselves having to bury their loved ones.

As many as 6,424 people were killed by other people in South Africa in the first quarter of the 2022/2023 financial year – an increase of 664 people murdered a year ago when the country was placed under Covid-19 lockdown level one and two, Cele said.

When averaged over the 91 days between April and June, that’s 71 people murdered in the country every day.

These statistics are shocking and show the level of lawlessness in this country. Something needs to be done quickly before the entire country becomes a murder scene.
