Chippa United Fires Mammila As Coach Ahead of Crucial Clash

Chippa United, currently positioned 13th in the Premier Soccer League, have undergone a significant shakeup in its coaching staff ahead of the second round of the 2023/24 season.

Siviwe Mpengesi, the club’s chairman, has made the tough decision to remove Morgan Mammila from his coaching role due to recent unfavorable results.

The Chilli Boys aim to turn their fortunes around with the introduction of new co-coaches Thabo September and Kwanele Kopo.

Mammila was reappointed as the head coach for Chippa United at the start of the 2023/24 season, with high hopes that he would lead the team to success.

The initial stages of the season saw the club performing well, with only one defeat in the first nine competitive games.

However, the tide turned, and the team struggled, winning just one out of the last eight matches across all competitions, losing five in the process.

Chippa United finds itself in a precarious position, sitting 13th in the Premier Soccer League with 18 points after 16 matches.

Concerned about the team’s trajectory, Chairman Siviwe Mpengesi decided to make a managerial change.

Mammila has been reassigned to the role of Technical Director, emphasizing the club’s commitment to leveraging his experience for long-term success.
