Belinda Magor’s troubles far from over

Belinda Magor, the woman behind the voice note calling for black people to be killed instead of Pit Bulls, has been arrested

This was confirmed by Gauteng premier Panyaza Lesufi on Saturday 26 November 2022.

Magor topped social media trending lists for her voice note calling for Black people to be killed and banned instead of Pit Bulls. Her racist rant comes after several South Africans started calling for vicious dogs to be banned following a spate of carnivorous incidents that have claimed the lives of innocent children.

In an interview with a news publication, the elderly woman blamed diabetes for her racist rant.

“If your sugar is out of control, which happens quite often, you’re not thinking clearly, you can’t concentrate,” she said.

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has condemned Magor and said it would investigate the case. The Azanian People’s Organization (AZAPO) has also opened a case against the woman.

Her trouble does not end there, Belinda Magor has also been evicted by her landlord.

According to the landlord, who spoke on condition of anonymity, Magor, 60, received a 30-day eviction notice on Friday morning after his identity emerged in the media.

“I got messages on WhatsApp on Friday around 10 am of links to a story about what she [Magor] did. After I read it, I was very upset. I was not happy at all. I immediately gave her notice to leave my property. I do not want to associate myself with a racist. We do not want such people here,” said the landlord.

Magor lives on a plot in Putfontein, Ekurhuleni.

He said Magor was not happy when she received the notice. “She said she was sorry for what she said and was apologising. I do not tolerate such behaviour from her. She is a single old lady who is unemployed and I think she has mental issues. She says things without thinking about the consequences,” he said.

The landlord said Magor had lived alone on his property for five years and owned two pit bulls.
