Albany kid and her photographer uncle received absolutely nothing for viral moment
Eight months ago, Lethukukhanya Mjaji captured the hearts of many with her infectious smile and bubbly personality.
The adorable three-year-old gained widespread attention after her uncle, Lungisani Mjaji, shared pictures and videos of her on a trip to buy Albany bread.
The wholesome content went viral on social media, sparking hopes for potential opportunities and endorsements for young Lethu.
The heartwarming images and videos of Lethu’s cheerful demeanor led many to believe that she would receive recognition and support from Albany Bread.
Youth Village reports that despite the initial excitement and anticipation, Lungisani revealed that they did not receive any tangible benefits from the company.
Despite this setback, both Lethu and her uncle remain positive and resilient, focusing on their creative endeavours and trusting in divine guidance for their future.
In a statement, Lungisani expressed gratitude for the support they have received and emphasized their commitment to moving forward with determination and faith.
“We received no compensation from that Albany thing. Let’s dispel the notion that we gained anything from it. We’ve moved on, we’re creating, and I trust that God will guide our path. I’ll personally support the child with what little I have. ‘Ubuntu abusekho’,” said Lungisani.
He reassured that he would continue to support his niece to the best of his abilities, emphasizing the value of unity and perseverance in facing life’s challenges.
