Police Seek 26-Year-Old for Alleged Rape of 16-Year-Old Sister
Police in Letsitele under Mopani District are searching for a 26-year-old male suspect in connection with the alleged rape of his 16-year-old sister that occurred at Babanana village on 21 September 2023 at about 22:00.
According to the information received, the victim was asleep inside the bedroom that she shares with her 11-year-old and 26 year-old brother.
It is reported that the elder brother raped her while the younger brother was asleep.
The following day the victim went to school without informing anyone about the incident. While attending school, the victim was approached by one of the Educators who noticed that something was wrong with her. The teenager informed the Educator that she was raped by her brother the previous night.
The Educator attempted to locate the mother of the victim however, without success. On Monday, 30 October 2023, the Educator managed to find the victim’s mother and told her about her daughter’s ordeal.

The mother then consulted a Social Worker on Wednesday, 01 November 2023 and the duo reported the incident at Letsitele police station.
A case of rape was immediately opened against the elder brother of the victim who is currently on the run and a manhunt is underway for his arrest.
